Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Just fill out and sign the form with your contact and payment information. You can mail or email it to us and we'll get the ball rolling.
Q: How long does it take?
A: You are covered almost immediately after you send in the forms to us and payment is verified. We will notify you of your Legal Shield ID number and the Attorney's office who will be your main contact to start receiving services.
Q: I would like further information about how this works, how do I get it?
A: Send us an email with your questions and contact information and we will be happy to call and answer your questions or send you further information.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in Michigan, and the policies are administered in Oklahoma. If you are a Michigan customer, we will provide you with a Michigan based attorney for your needs. We are not limited to only servicing Michigan customers, however, as Legal Shield does business throughout the entire US. We can assist you in signing up no matter where you are in the United States and provide you with a nearby Attorney that meets your needs under the umbrella of Legal Shield.
Q: What is the difference between a Membership and an Associate Membership?
A: An Associate membership allows you to sell Prepaid Legal Shield services to others. You can supplement your income with a commission for every membership you sell, which can create substantial income for you. If you just need access to legal services yourself, you'll want to sign up for a standard Membership.
Q: What Attorney will be my provider?
A: It depends on your location. In SE Michigan, most members are referred to a large, well respected law office in Troy, Michigan that has several attorneys of various specialties on staff.
Q: What if I don't like the attorney?
A: No problem! If you are ever unsatisfied with any attorney you are referred to, it's not a problem to obtain a referral to someone else.
Q: Do you have Criminal Defense/Divorce/DUI Attorneys on staff?
A: Yes, if you need someone from a specific area of law, we will find you someone who has the expertise needed to handle your case. Legal Shield takes the frustration out of trying to find an attorney with the proper background and experience for your needs.
Q: Are there any other out of pocket costs?
